A matching spare wheel is mounted under a green cover out back. The artillery-style wheels are finished in green and they are mounted with chrome hubcaps as well as whitewall bias-ply tires that were reportedly installed in the 2000s. Part of the hood latch is missing, and a crack in the passenger-side windshield frame trim and paint bubbles on the left-side door bottoms can be seen in the gallery. Additional equipment includes chrome bumpers, dual taillights, rear fender skirts, running boards, faux hood vents, and a hood ornament. This example was repainted in its current metallic green with darker fenders in the early 2000s, and a replacement vinyl roof insert and safety glass are also said to have been installed at that time. The streamlined design was one of the first to use wind tunnel testing as well as a split windshield and safety glass in all windows. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Airflow was developed by engineers Carl Breer, Fred Zeder, and Owen Skelton and was introduced for 1934.
